The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Kelly Boa The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Kelly Boardman!

Kelly Boardman has been a local Cottonwood Heights resident since 1997. She owns property, works and recreates in the Central Wasatch. Her passion for the outdoors, environment and recreation brought her here from Mammoth Lakes for academics at the University of Utah and athletic pursuits in the Wasatch Mountains. She has worked as an environmental consultant and currently works as a snow sports professional. Her interests include alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, climbing, mountain biking, trail running, backpacking, surfing and traveling the world. She has been on the Stakeholders Council since 2021 and is hopeful to see more balance among environmental, recreational and economic interests in the canyons, and eventually wholistic and sustainable transportation solutions.

The Central Wasatch Commission comprises governmen The Central Wasatch Commission comprises government officials and members of the public who work together to protect the Central Wasatch Mountains. The Board, made up of government officials, is the decision-making body of the CWC. The Stakeholders Council is a group of citizens with a wide array of interests and expertise that advises the Board regarding issues, interests, and proposed plans.

Above is the CWC’s organizational chart with positions and committees for both groups. The Stakeholders Council has recently restructured its committees based on the foundational components of the Mountain Accord: transportation issues, recreational stewardship, environmental conservation, and economic interests. In addition, the success of the Millcreek Canyon Committee has led to the continuation of the group.

Visit the CWC's website to learn more about the Board and the Stakeholders Council. Link in bio!
