Tuesday, January 13, 2026, marks the beginning of Tuesday, January 13, 2026, marks the beginning of the Call for Ideas for the Central Wasatch Commission (CWC) Short-Term Project Grant Cycle. Proposed ideas must fall within the four major issue areas of the Central Wasatch Mountains: transportation, economic vitality, environmental sustainability, and recreational stewardship. The application period closes on February 10th, 2026 at 5 p.m.

This Call for Ideas is meant to explore short-term project ideas in the CWC project area that are largely “shovel-ready” for the CWC to consider for funding. “Shovel-ready” means that if funding is received, the project will be ready to break ground with all planning, communication, and permits already completed and obtained at the time of application.

The full program for the 2026 Central Wasatch Symposium is live, and it’s packed with thoughtful panels and conversations about where we’ve been—and where we’re headed. Join us January 8–9 at Millcreek City Hall for two days of dialogue around this year’s theme, Celebrating 10 Years of Mountain Accord, and what that shared vision means as the Wasatch faces growing pressures.

We’re honored to welcome keynote speaker Darren Parry (@shoshoneelder), who will speak to stewardship, connection to place, and the power of building consensus. From reflecting on a decade of progress to exploring the future of the Central Wasatch, this symposium is designed to spark meaningful discussion.
