⛰️ This year’s Central Wasatch Symposium, held on January 8th and 9th, will explore the accomplishments of the Mountain Accord over the past decade and look ahead to what the future holds.

🌲 The Central Wasatch Commission is excited to host Darren Parry ( @shoshoneelder ) at Millcreek City Hall as the keynote speaker. He will present on consensus building, stewardship, and connection to the land. 

🧾 The full program will be released next week on December 11th, 2025, so keep an eye out for that update.

Heads up! 🏔️ Did you know that the CWC’s Short-Te Heads up!

🏔️ Did you know that the CWC’s Short-Term Project Grants Program will be accepting applications starting January 13th, 2026? 

The Short-Term Project Grants Program looks to fund projects in the Central Wasatch Commission project area which extends from Summit County to Park City and all along the Wasatch Front. 

These projects should implement transportation and transit solutions, protect the environment and watershed that originates in the Central Wasatch, steward recreational access, and sustain economic viability.

The CWC is seeking…
❄️ Shovel-ready projects
🌄 Eligible proposals that have been fully planned and permitted
❄️ To fund up to $20,000 per project
🌄  Projects from nonprofits, community groups, and Utah residents

The CWC is hiring a full-time Communications Direc The CWC is hiring a full-time Communications Director! People passionate about the Central Wasatch Mountains, local government, and public service should consider working with the Central Wasatch Commission. Apply by 11/4! Link in bio!

We offer great benefits for employees:

No one is paid less than $80k annually before benefits, for 40 hours of work per week;
Health, dental, and vision insurance provided through the Public Employees Health Plan (PEHP) for full-time employees;
Enrollment in the Utah Retirement System (URS) with options between a 401K or pension plan for full-time employees;
A four-day work week (4 days/10 hours per day);
A hybrid work week, two days in-office, two days working from home, with other in-person meetings as necessary;
A laptop computer is provided for all employees; and
Generous paid vacation leave.
