November Letter from the CWC

December CWC Board Meeting Location: Millcreek City Hall

Today, the Central Wasatch Commission will meet for its December Board meeting at 4:00 p.m. at Millcreek City Hall, located at 3300 South 1300 East, Millcreek. At this meeting, we’ll hear from Dr. Jim Ehleringer about the status of the Environmental Dashboard, including the work that took place over the course of Phase 1 of the project.

The Commission will discuss the creation of three committees: a committee focused on the Central Wasatch National Conservation and Recreation Area Act, a committee on short-term projects, and a committee focused on transportation.

The Commission will see some membership changes starting in January 2020 — the CWC Chair and Co-Chair, Chris McCandless and Mayor Jackie Biskupski, are both outgoing. Today’s December meeting will be both Chair McCandless and Co-Chair Biskupski’s last meeting as Commissioners, and the Commission will elect new officers during the meeting today.

In addition to the election of a new Chair and Co-Chair, Commissioners will hear an update on the Stakeholders Council.

The Board meeting agenda, and all meeting materials are accessible via both the Utah Public Notices site, and on the CWC website. The Board meeting will be live streamed.

Today, the Millcreek Canyon Shuttle Committee of the CWC Stakeholders Council will meet at 1:00 p.m. at Millcreek City Hall. The meeting agenda can be found both on the Utah Public Notices site, and on the CWC website.

What is CWC’s timetable for implementing a ban on day skiers driving their personal vehicles up and down both the Big and Little Cottonwood canyons to travel to the ski areas (i.e. Alta/Snowbird and Brighton/Solitude)?
