The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Ian Hartl The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Ian Hartley!

Ian was born in Toronto, Canada, where he grew up exploring the network of ravines that intersect the city. He moved to the U.S. in high school and graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in outdoor recreation management before moving to Park City in 2005. After over 20 years working in the bike and outdoor recreation industry, Ian joined the Mountain Trails Foundation in 2021. As a grassroots trail organization, he loves the community connections and the opportunity to build upon a legacy his kids enjoy. As a stakeholder with the CWC, Ian hopes to share the strategies for success they have learned by providing trails “locally.” Better distributing users provides a shared benefit to all users, and balancing recreational demands with ecological impacts is an ongoing discussion in which I am glad to participate.

The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Kelly Boa The Stakeholder Spotlight of the week is Kelly Boardman!

Kelly Boardman has been a local Cottonwood Heights resident since 1997. She owns property, works and recreates in the Central Wasatch. Her passion for the outdoors, environment and recreation brought her here from Mammoth Lakes for academics at the University of Utah and athletic pursuits in the Wasatch Mountains. She has worked as an environmental consultant and currently works as a snow sports professional. Her interests include alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, climbing, mountain biking, trail running, backpacking, surfing and traveling the world. She has been on the Stakeholders Council since 2021 and is hopeful to see more balance among environmental, recreational and economic interests in the canyons, and eventually wholistic and sustainable transportation solutions.
