The Central Wasatch Commission will hold four public meetings the week of October 7th:

CWC Board Meeting -- Monday, October 7th from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Environment System Committee Meeting -- Tuesday, October 8th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Economy System Committee Meeting -- Thursday, October 10th from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Transportation System Committee Meeting -- Friday, October 11th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

All meetings will be held in person and online via Zoom. Links in bio to watch virtually!

#throwbackthursday -- This vintage photo shows a dirt road leading up Mill Creek Canyon. Before the modern paved road, visitors traveled up this winding trail to explore the region. This picture was taken around 1905 by an unknown photographer.

Transportation through this canyon has changed drastically in the past several decades. More people can recreate and enjoy the beauty of Mill Creek, but this has resulted in more traffic congestion. The Central Wasatch Commission's (CWC) foundational document, the Mountain Accord, pushed for a Mill Creek Shuttle that would help alleviate parking and traffic issues. The CWC has continuously worked towards this solution and other transportation efforts.

Save the date! The Central Wasatch Commission is hosting its first annual Central Wasatch Symposium on January 9th and 10th, 2025 at Millcreek City Hall. This conference event will bring together the various interests and stakeholders in the Central Wasatch for two days of expert panels, interactive workshops, and networking focused on the stewardship of the Central Wasatch Mountains.

This year's keynote speaker is Terry Tempest Williams who has been called a citizen writer, a writer who speaks out eloquently on behalf of an ethical stance toward life. A naturalist and fierce advocate for freedom of speech, she has consistently shown us how environmental issues are social issues that ultimately become matters of justice.
